Cody Road Bourbon Whiskey
Cody Road Bourbon Whiskey
Mississippi River Distilling Co.
Cody Road Bourbon is named after soldier and Wild West entertainer William “Buffalo Bill” Cody who was born in Le Claire, Iowa the home of Mississippi River Distilling Company.
Cody Road Bourbon Whiskey is made from a mash of 70% corn from Le Claire, IA, 20% wheat from Reynolds, IL and 10% unmalted barley from Davenport, IA. Cody Road Bourbon is then aged for two years in newly charred 30 gallon oak barrels, about half the size of a traditional whiskey barrels which increases the wood-to-whiskey ratio giving it a flavor beyond its rested age.
With a high corn mash bill, this bourbon leads with sweetness from the corn, light fruit notes from the wheat, and a grassy, nutty finish. Because of the smaller barrel used to make Cody Road Bourbon, the vanilla and caramel flavors are clearly present, creating a 90 proof bourbon with a beautifully smooth finish.
