About Bittermilk

After graduating from the Culinary Institute of America, Joe and MariElena Raya opened up their craft cocktail bar, The Gin Joint, in Charleston, South Carolina. Then they had another idea, to offer a cocktail mixer that tastes as good, if not better, than what you could get in a bar.

Bittermilk was founded in 2013 by the husband and wife duo. Control over the production process was crucial for Joe and MariElena. That’s why Bittermilk is one of the few mixer brands that produces their own products. Each of their hand-bottled mixers is made with a bittering agent, a sweetener, and an acid for expertly balanced cocktails.
