Ogden’s Own Distillery’s gears started turning in the early 2000s when founder Tim Smith was fiddling with recipes. He landed on a recipe that would become their Underground Herbal Spirit. With a product in hand, Tim needed a distillery to back it. With some help from Steve Conlin, they opened the doors to Ogden’s Own Distillery in 2009.
Five Husbands Vodka is Ogden's Own Distillery's celebration of pride. The celebratory craft vodka is distilled from 100% corn with the help of some very special water. In the beautiful Ogden Canyon, there's a pristine water spring that's inaccessible by vehicle. So, the folks at Ogden's Own carry the water out five gallons at a time. Filling your glass with the slightly peppery, creamy craft vodka is the perfect way to toast to diversity.
Peppery and creamy notes make this vodka a perfect pairing for a citrus-forward chicken dish!
Ingredients
-
1 Lemon, Thinly Sliced
-
3 Tbsp. Extra Virgin Olive Oil
-
2 Eggs
-
3 Tbsp. Milk
-
½ cup All-Purpose Flour
-
4 Boneless & Skinless Chicken Breasts
-
4 Tbsp. Five Husbands Vodka
-
4 Tbsp. Butter
-
4 Tbsp. Fresh Lemon Juice
-
1 Tbsp. Finely Chopped Parsley
-
1 Tbsp. Capers
-
1 Tbsp. Finely Chopped Basil
-
Salt & Pepper, to taste
Directions
Char lemon slices evenly on both sides in a high-heated pan, then set aside. Whisk eggs and milk in a small bowl; flour in a separate bowl
Cover each chicken breast in flour first, then dip into the egg mixture, and then place immediately onto an oiled pan set on medium heat. Cook thoroughly until golden brown. Once done, remove chicken from pan
Deglaze the same pan with vodka, using a wooden spoon to remove any bits on the bottom of pan
Then, add butter, lemon juice, parsley, basil, capers, salt, and pepper. Cook evenly until the mixture is reduced by ¼. Then, return chicken and charred lemon slices to pan. Toss together, then serve the chicken topped with sauce and garnished with leftover herbs. Enjoy!
