The Bahama Queen

We’d be remis this Women’s History Month if we didn’t dedicate a cocktail to the queen of smuggling herself, Gertrude “Cleo” Lythgoe. As the premier smuggler during prohibition, Cleo was responsible for increasing the amount of booze smuggled into the US from Nassau Bahamas from 12,000 to 250,000 gallons. Women really do it better! Honoring the women of distilling is part of why I was so excited to partner with Spirit Hub again for Women’s History Month. Spirit Hub is an online retailer that makes it possible for me to try spirits from female distillers and women-owned distilleries, like this limited edition bottle of Bourbon Barreled Gin from Transformation Spirits in Kentucky! This gin tastes fantastic, and is perfect for someone like me whose favorite spirits are gin and bourbon!
